Hi Guys

I wanted to start todays mail with a word of warning.

If you are using your autoresponder to sell a product or service, you must be very careful as to how you approach your potential customer. 

Few people like a hard sale.  

Just ask yourself, how do you promote the products and services you offer?

I know if I get the hard sell sort of mail, I'm scrolling down for the unsubscribe button quicker than a cheater with his backside on fire.

So I wanted to try to help you with a few tips that have helped me over the years.

Build interest slowly. 

Start with an informative message: a message that educates/entertains the reader in some way on the topic that your product or service is related to. 

I always feel that if someone has made an effort to benefit my day in some way, I in return will make the effort to see what they are promoting.

Show the reader how your product/service can solve a problem, or generally make their life easier.

This type of marketing is an art rather than a science. 

It may take time to get it exactly right. 

However one way to speed up the process is to learn from others!

Use the examples that other marketers have set for you. 

Pay attention to the messages that you receive from other marketers. 

Which messages caught your attention?

Which ones made you click?

Try to work out what made them so effective.

Start a swipe file, and keep the best messages. 

Use some of the better sales copy and ideas for your own messages.
 
Don't just use an exact copy of someone elses sales message!

Just use it as the base for yours.

Doing this will drastically short cut your learning curve.
